Dr Sidhu started his career in medicine as a medical officer in Punjab Civil Medical Services, PCMS, in February 1985. He worked in various positions such as faculty member and specialist in varied settings from tertiary teaching hospitals to community health in India and Australia, providing optimal holistic healthcare to his patients and teaching junior doctors because of his keen interest in teaching and training. He has successfully worked as a geriatrician and specialist general physician in public hospitals in all Australian states. His areas of interest in geriatric medicine include dementia assessment, addressing the issue of polypharmacy given his sound knowledge of pharmacy as a postgraduate, fall prevention, managing behavioral and psychological symptoms due to dementia (BPSD), and comprehensive geriatric assessment.
